Lazy Boys Salvagers

THE CAST:

October Films will follow a workshop full of character or a group of friends with electric banter into the world of international antiques flipping.

The makers of Walking the Nile, RudeTube, Outrageous Acts Of Science; and Lazy Boy Garage are looking for a fully formed UK #workshop or a group of skilled friends or associates who love a challenge; to restore old international relics from trash to cash. Dubbed 'lazy boys' because they don't leave the workshop. All research and sales are performed online and the antiques are shipped to the UK. Once in the workshop, the team will have the skills to restore or upgrade the items and then take it to market to be quickly re-sold for profit!

It might seem ridiculous, but by using the internet and never leaving the garage to collect the antiques and parts, the Lazy Boys Salvagers are giving us a master-class in 'How to' - and not to - buy and sell furniture. For the viewers, it will be an exciting, fun, eye-opening show which we hope might inspire a new generation of antique and one of-a-kind buyers.

THE SHOW:

Across the globe amazing salvage and antiques are laying undiscovered – in rusty junkyards, dusty warehouses and overcrowded attics. The Lazy Boy Salvagers know there is profit in these pieces.  They are on a mission to hunt them down, spruce them up and sell them on for a profit – all without leaving their workshop. Our “Lazy Boys” are experienced antiques and salvage experts – with supreme skills in restoration and upcycling.  From authentic vintage Americana to turning scrap into stylish furniture, they know the latest trends and what discerning buyers want. With the help of social media and a network of international fixers, they will source amazing items across the globe – from vintage artefacts to incredible architectural salvage.  Viewing them only on Skype, they’re taking a massive risk and gambling there will be buyers for them back in Britain.  Are they fake or fortune, muck or brass? Deal done, their haul arrives at the workshop in a shipping container.  Seeing it for the first time up close and personal they then must restore or re-purpose – creating products that they can sell on for big profits.

Each episode builds to an auction. Was the risk worth it – can they make money on these hair-brained salvage deals?

If you have one that is – if you are a group of skilled friends, what would you like your group to be called?
